Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Muhurta Clockapplication (“the app”, “we”, “us”) handles, why, and the choices you have. We designed the app to work with as little data as possible. There are no user accounts, no advertising, and we do not sell your data.

Information We Collect

The app itself does not require you to create an account, and it does not automatically collect personal identifiers. The information involved is limited to:

• Location you enter. To calculate panchanga (tithi, nakshatra, sunrise/sunset, muhurtas, choghadiya, etc.) the app needs a location. This location is entered by you — as latitude/longitude coordinates or a city name. The app does notread your device’s GPS or automatically detect your location.
• Panchanga data. Astrological and time-of-day values that the app computes locally from the date, time, and the location you entered.
• Questions you type. When you use the Advisor feature, the text of the question you ask.

All panchanga and muhurta calculations are performed locally on your device using published solar algorithms. No location or timing data is transmitted for the core clock and panchanga features.

How We Use Information

Information is used solely to provide the features you request:

• The location you enter is used to compute the panchanga and timing information shown on screen.
• When you use an AI feature — the activity suggestions or the Advisor — the app sends the current panchanga data, the location you entered, and (for the Advisor) the question you typed to our backend at muhurta.chakrakali.com. Our backend passes this context to a large language model (LLM) that generates the text guidance you see. This happens only when you invoke these features.

Third Parties

To power the AI features described above, our backend calls a third-party large language model provider to generate text responses. The data sent for this purpose is the panchanga context, the entered location, and your typed question — it does not include an account, name, email, or device identifier, because the app does not collect those.

We do not use advertising networks, and we do not sell, rent, or share your information with data brokers or for marketing purposes.

Data Transmission and Security

All communication between the app and our backend is encrypted in transit using HTTPS.

Data Retention

The app does not maintain user accounts or user profiles. The location you enter is kept on your device to power the clock and is not tied to an identity. Requests to the AI features are processed to generate a response and are not used to build a profile of you or sold to anyone. We retain only what is necessary to operate and troubleshoot the service, and no longer than needed for that purpose.

Children’s Privacy

The app is a general-audience reference tool and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Choices

• You control what location you enter, and you can change it at any time.
• You can use the core clock and panchanga features without ever sending data off your device — simply do not use the AI activity suggestions or Advisor.
• The AI features run only when you choose to invoke them.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
